My passion for books led me to launch StrangeBooks, a small secondhand bookshop, nearly three years ago. Selling secondhand books sparked something unexpected: a growing curiosity about how books are made, repaired, and brought back to life.

This blog is my journey into the art of bookbinding and restoration. I'm learning how to repair cherished books, craft new ones by hand, and delve into the fascinating history of bookbinding through the ages.

It splits loosely into three threads: The Craft, which covers bookbinding, repair, and technique; The History, which follows books and bookmaking through time; and The Curiosity, where those two threads meet in something harder to categorise.

Whether you're a book enthusiast, a lover of traditional crafts, or simply curious, you're welcome here.
